What is No First Attack?
Simply put, we are an online community. Think of us as a site kind of like Facebook. The difference is that members of No First Attack have one very important thing in common: Karate.
It doesn't matter what style you practice, if you're a beginner, or an instructor. You may just have children who are students of the art. Just as long as you're connected somehow, you're very welcome to join us.

Why is the site called No First Attack?
The title of the site is in reference to Master Gichin Funakoshi's second guiding principle of Karate: "Karate ni sente nashi." Commonly translated, this means , "In Karate, there is no first attack."
Practitioners of Karate don't study the art because they want to fight. It's quite the opposite. If one is a true student of Karate, they seek to avoid confrontation whenever possible. This is the spirit we wish to promote on our website.
